The aim of this research is to examine the organizational culture, school culture and the
factors that make up school culture, the role of internal and external stakeholders in school
culture, the strength and weakness of school culture, the organizational culture of teachers
working in public secondary schools in Ankara, in the context of Hofstede's cultural
dimensions. To examine their views on factors and how school culture can be improved.
The research was conducted with 15 teachers selected from secondary schools in Ankara
through maximum diversity sampling, which is a type of purposeful sampling method.
Qualitative method and phenomenology design were used in the research. The data
obtained with the semi-structured interview form were converted into findings using the
content analysis technique. According to the results of the research, it can be said that the
power distance is low in schools, there is a tendency to collectivist movements, the feminine
features come to the fore, uncertainty avoidance is high, short/long-term orientation is
unstable, and tolerance is dominant. In addition, it can be stated that the management style
adopted by the school culture, the working discipline of the teachers, and the parent-student
cooperation are important. For this reason, it is foreseen that the results of this research will
be a source in understanding the thoughts of teachers in the creation, maintenance and
development of school culture.
