Fen Bilgisi Öğretmen Adaylarının Sosyal Medyaya Yönelik Tutumları ile E-Öğrenme Stillerinin Çeşitli Değişkenler Açısından İncelenmesi

In the study, it was aimed to investigate the relationship between science teacher
candidates’ attitudes towards social media and their e-learning styles and to investigate
these according to different variables. Participants of this survey research consist of 401
teacher candidates. Personal information form was used to learn participants' gender, class
level, university, personal computer existence, internet connection device, social network
memberships’ number, internet usage purpose and social media usage duration. Social
Media Attitude Scale and E-Learning Styles Scale are other tools used. Descriptive
methods, factor analysis, independent t-test, one-way ANOVA, Tukey test and Pearson
correlation technique were used to analyze the data. Consequently, it was found that social
media attitudes were slightly positive and there were significant differences according to
gender, social network memberships’ number, internet usage purpose and social media
usage duration. E-learning styles of the participants were also positive and there were
significant differences according to class level, gender, social network memberships’
number, internet usage purpose and social media usage duration. It was understood that
there were moderate and positive relations between teacher candidates' attitudes towards
social media and dimensions with e-learning styles and dimensions. In addition, in all
categories of the variables personal computer, device type, university and social network
memberships’ number and in most categories of the variables gender, grade level, internet
usage purpose and social media usage duration significant relationships were found
between the social media attitudes of the participants and their e-learning styles. Finally,
various suggestions were made within the scope of the findings.
