The purpose of this study is to explore the emotion management focused parenting attitudes of parents with preschool children, to develop a psychoeducation program tailored for these parents, and to examine the effectiveness of the program. In the study, an exploratory sequential design was used which is one of the mixed methods research design, and the study consisted of three stages. In the initial stage, experiences of parents about parenting concerning their attitudes of emotion management were investigated. For this purpose, in-depth individual interviews were conducted with parents. In the second stage of the study, Emotion Management Psychoeducation Program (EMPP) was developed. In the last stage of the study, the effect of the EMPP was tested via a pretest-posttest-follow-up test control group experimental design. Eight sessions of DYPP were applied to the experimental group. In the first stage of the study, data were collected using the Parent Semi-Structured Interview Form prepared for the study, and in the following stages, data were collected using the Coping with Children's Negative Emotions Scale (CCNES) and the Self-Assessment Form for Participant. The qualitative data were analyzed with NVivo 14, whereas the quantitative data were analyzed with SPSS 28.0 software. At the stage that emotion management-focused attitudes of the parents were analyzed, three themes were identified: identifying emotions, expressing emotions, and strategies used in emotion management. In the experimental study, it was concluded that EMPP had a significant effect on parents' emotion management-focused parenting attitudes. The findings of the study were discussed in the light of the related literature and various suggestions were presented for parents and researchers.
