This research aims to examine secondary school 7th grade students' detection of anaphoras in informative texts. The main problem of the research is to observe the identification of the referents of the references in informative texts in general and according to their type. In this regard, paragraphs from informative texts in textbooks approved by the Ministry of National Education, expired or still in use were used in the test. A test consisting of 17 paragraphs and a total of 44 anaphors were prepared and applied to 82 7th-grade secondary school students. In this study, survey research, one of the quantitative research approaches, was used. Relational scanning, which is a survey research model, was preferred as the research design. In the study it has been concluded that, when the general anaphora detection status of the 7th grade secondary school students was examined, they were inadequate in detecting pronoun, adjective, adverb, verb and suffix anaphora, apart from noun anaphora, female students were more successful than male students in detecting anaphora, and students with a higher average success rate in the Turkish course had higher anaphora detection rates.
