Teknoloji Destekli 5e Modeli Uygulamasının Eşitlik ve Denklem Konusunda Akademik Başarıya Etkisi
Özet
This research aims to the effect of the technology-supported 5E model practice on equality and equations on the academic achievement of students. The study group consists of a total of 64 students, 31 girls, and 33 boys, studying in the seventh grade in a public school in the province of Karaman in the 2021-2022 academic year. In the study, different education programs were applied to three different groups. The first group was trained according to the technology-supported 5E model, and the second group according to the 5E model. These two groups are the experimental group. The control group was taught the subject of equality and equations by applying the current curriculum. In order to measure the academic achievement of the students, the Equality and Equation Achievement Test was applied to all groups as pre-test and post-test. The one-way ANOVA, Wilcoxon, and t-test were performed using a statistical program. According to the result, there is no statistical difference between the pre-test success scores of the students, that is, the success levels of the students before the training are similar. The post-test achievement scores of the experimental and control groups showed a statistical difference in favor of the experimental groups. In other words, the education programs prepared according to the technology-supported 5E and 5E models are more effective regarding equality and equations than the current curriculum. In the light of the findings, it has been suggested to apply the technology-supported 5E model to other subjects in the field of algebra learning.
