Abstract
The present study investigated the influence of using documentary movies in 8th gradestudents achievements in the areas of Cell Division and Heredity and Force andMotion and on their views about the nature of science. The study was piloted with 228th grade students attending an elementary school in the city of Eskisehir. As a result ofthis pilot study, the documentary movies and the data collection tools used in the studywere improved. The main study was carried out in two elementary schools found inEskisehir in the academic year of 2012 -2013. The study was conducted withelementary school 8th grade students in the course of Science and Technology in aperiod of six weeks. A total of 113 students found in the experimental and controlgroups participated in the study.
