Abstract

In this study was investigated the relationships among knowledge, belief and practices about distance education of faculty members in distance education programs. 16 faculty members who work at three different universities and give lectures in distance education programs participated in the study. Mixed research method including qualitative and quantitative methods was used in the study.Faculty members’ knowledge about distance education was determined through open-ended interview questions, their beliefs about distance education was determined through the scales of Perceived Self-Efficacy in Distance Education and Perceived Usefulness towards Distance education developed under the scope of this study. Validity and reliability studies of the scales were conducted and it was found that each scale consists of three constructs and their reliability coefficients are sufficient.
