Okuldan İşe Geçiş Becerileri Geliştirme Programının Kariyer Uyumu ve Kariyer İyimserliğine Etkisi
Özet
The purpose of this study is to examine the effectiveness of the School-to-Work Transition Skills Development Program (SWTSDP) on senior year university students’ career adaptability and career optimism. In line with this, the psycho-educational program which was developed in United States (US) were adapted to Turkish culture and it was implemented to the volunteer students for 12 weeks long. The experimental and control groups were established with 32 participants. In this study, pretest-posttest control group design was used. In addition, the follow-up test was applied to the experimental group three months after the program was terminated. Data was collected in this study by using Career Adapt-Abilities Scale (CAAS) which was developed by Savickas and Porfeli (2012) and adapted to Turkish culture by Büyükgöze Kavas (2014) and Career Optimism Scale (COS) which was developed by researcher within the study. The package program of SPSS 21.0 was used in order to analyze these data. Wilcoxon Signed Rank Test was utilized to compare the results of the experimental group’s pretest-posttest and posttest-follow up test. Also, the results of the experimental and control groups’ posttests were compared with Mann Whitney U Test. According to the results of the study, it was found that the students in experimental group had higher career adaptability and career optimism after the implementation of the program; the experimental group’s career adaptability and career optimism were higher than the control group. In addition after the follow-up test, it was determined that the program’s effectiveness on the career adaptability and career optimism continued three months after the implementation.
