Öğretmen Adaylarının Çevre Bilinci Düzeyinin Belirlenmesi
Özet
Our environment, which is vulnerable to the ever-increasing world population, suffers more than before. At this point, the importance of bringing environmental awareness to society has increased. After the family, the most influential people in the formation of environmental awareness in individuals are undoubtedly teachers. The main purpose of this research is to determine the environmental awareness levels of prospective teachers and to reveal the main reasons for the prospective teachers' environmental awareness. Using the random sampling method, a questionnaire was conducted from 904 pre-service teachers in science education, classroom education and mathematics education (primary education) departments at Eskişehir Osmangazi University and Hacettepe University, and semi-structured interviews were conducted with 50 of these prospective teachers. In the research, factor analysis was performed to determine the compatibility of the scales with the data set. Independent sample T-Test, one-way ANOVA, correlation, simple linear regression and multiple linear regression analyzes were performed to determine the relationships between the variables. Qualitative data are; It was interpreted together with quantitative data using content analysis and descriptive analysis methods. As a result of the research, the place where prospective teachers live, being interested in plants and animals, following the news about environmental problems and talking about environmental problems, the level of their education, the attitude and behavior of the university they study have an effect on the environmental awareness. At the same time, prospective teachers' knowledge of the environment, their attitudes towards the environment and their environmentally friendly behaviors have an impact on environmental awareness.
