In this research, Marriage Perception Scale (MPS) was developed to objectively measure university students' perception of marriage and the factors affecting university students' perception of marriage were examined. In the study, the relationship of the marriage perception of university students with the variables of gender, age, field of education, income level of the family, romantic relationship status, desire to marry, marital status of parents etc. was examined. At the stage of development of the MPS, the research group consists of 503 students studying in various faculties of two state universities and a foundation university in Ankara while 869 students are involved in the examination of the factors affecting the perception of marriage. MPS and Personal Information Form (PIF) were used to collect data. SPSS 24.0 was used to analyze the obtained data set. The results obtained from the study revealed that the MPS is a valid and reliable measurement tool that can be used to measure the marriage perception of university students. In addition, it was determined that the variables of gender, age, field of education, income level of the family, desire to marry and the frequency of harsh discussions and fights in the family significantly predicted university students' perception of marriage. However, it was observed that the variables of romantic relationship status, marital status of parents, education level of parents and physical violence experienced in the family did not significantly predict the marriage perception of university students.
