Kavram Yanılgılarını Belirlemede Yapılandırılmış Grid ve Üç Aşamalı Test Yöntemlerinin Karşılaştırılması
Özet
The purpose of this study is to determine the effectiveness of configured grid method in determining misconceptions of 7. grade students about electricity subject by comparing configured grid method and three tier test method. For this a three tier multiple choice test was developed. The sample of the study is 222 7. grade students who educated in three different schools. It has proven by lots of studies that, three tier test is a suitable method to determine misconceptions. Validity of the test is provided by expert opinion and reliability is calculated by KR20 method. Test is named as valid by expert opinion and KR20 is calculated as 0.78. The validity of configured grid test is provided by expert and reliability is calculated by Cronbach Alpha method. According to experts the grid is found to be valid and Cronbach Alpha is calculated as 0.86. Additionally, opinions about three tier test and configured grid method by 13 open ended questions are obtained from 14 science teachers. While making comments on findings students who choose both misconception on first stage and choose “I’m sure” option on third stage was assumed to have misconception in three tier test. Expressions written on the second stage of the test which was written as open ended examined in detail. Incorrect answers which are chosen %10 and more are accepted as misconception for both configured grid and three tier test. Misconceptions’ expressions are same in both tests so that comparisons can be made easily. When compared to two methods configured grid method is both more reliable and more effective in determining misconceptions according to expert opinion
