Özet
The aim of this study is to investigate the role of parental attitudes and basic psychological needs in predicting the bullying status (bully, victim, bully/victim, and not involved). In addition, it was examined whether there is a difference in the distribution of bullying statuses according to sex and domestic violence. The sample of the study consists of 697 high school students. In the study, Peer Bullying Scale (Adolescent Form), Parents Attitude Scale, Basic Psychological Needs Scale (High School Form) and Personal Information Form were used for data collection. The data was analyzed using multinominal logistic regression analysis and chi-square analysis. According to the results of the research, while all dimensions of parental attitude and the need of relatedness significantly predict bullying status, the needs of competence and autonomy do not predict bullying status. The involment dimension of the parental attitude decreases the likelihood of being bully and bully/victim. The psychological autonomy dimension decreases the likelihood of being victim and bully/victim. The supervision dimension decreases the likelihood of being bully/victim. Satisfaction of the need of relatedness decreases the likelihood of being victim and bully/victim. It was determined that there is a significant difference in the distribution of bullying statuses according to gender and domestic violence status.
