Abstract
This methodological study was conducted to adapt the Psychological Safety in High-Fidelity Simulation Scale for Nursing Students into Turkish and to test its validity and reliability. The study was conducted at two public universities between January 27, 2026, and April 9, 2026. The study group consisted of 190 nursing students who had experienced high-fidelity simulation. Data were collected using the Student Information Form and the Psychological Safety in High-Fidelity Simulation Scale for Nursing Students. Data collection was carried out online via Google Forms. Language and content validity were established based on expert evaluations, and the Content Validity Index was found to be 0.98. The KMO value was 0.806, and Bartlett’s Test of Sphericity was statistically significant (χ² = 1156.391, p < .001). Confirmatory factor analysis
demonstrated that the four-factor structure of the scale showed an excellent model fit (χ²/df = 1.089, CFI = .994, TLI = .993, RMSEA = .022). Second-order confirmatory factor analysis also confirmed that the four subdimensions represented a common higher-order construct (χ²/df = 1.113, CFI = .993, TLI = .991, RMSEA = .024). The overall Cronbach’s alpha coefficient of the scale was .834, and McDonald’s omega coefficient was .804. Corrected item–total correlation coefficients ranged from .389 to .563. In conclusion, the Turkish version of the Psychological Safety in High-Fidelity Simulation Scale for Nursing Students was found to be a valid and reliable
measurement instrument. The scale can be used to assess psychological safety in simulation-based nursing education and is expected to contribute to improving the quality of simulation education providing psychological safety.
