| dc.description.abstract | This study presents the transcription of Ulvi Cemal Erkin's String Quartet for guitar orchestra and offers solutions to the technical and musical problems encountered during this transcription process. The introduction discusses the importance of transcription in the context of guitar repertoire, focusing on transcription techniques and philosophy. The Conceptual Framework outlines the research's aims and significance, and presents the problem statement. A literature review examines existing studies on the work and guitar orchestra, determining the materials and methods to be used in the research. The second section provides general information about the Turkish Five composers and Ulvi Cemal Erkin. The third section describes the String Quartet, introducing its movements. The fourth section focuses on the concept of a guitar orchestra, examining the score, sound field, and instruments. The findings section presents solutions to the problems encountered during transcription using the chosen method, and offers technical and musical suggestions. The Conclusion and General Recommendations section offers suggestions for future performers who wish to make different transciptions of the work besides performing. These suggestions will shed light on new editions and performances. | |
| dc.description.ozet | Ulvi Cemal Erkin’in Yaylı Sazlar Kuarteti eserinin gitar orkestrasına transkripsiyonu ve bu transkripsiyon yapılırken karşılaşılan teknik ve müzikal sorunlara çözüm yolları sunulmuştur. Giriş kısmında transkripsiyonun gitar repertuvarı açısından önemine değinilmiş, bu alanda transkripsiyon tekniği ve felsefesi üzerinde durulmuştur. Kavramsal Çerçeve bölümünde araştırmanın amaç ve önemi belirtilerek problem durumuna yer verilmiştir. Literatür taramasında eser ve gitar orkestrası üzerine yapılan çalışmalar incelenerek araştırmada kullanılacak olan materyal ve yöntem belirlenmiştir. İkinci bölümde Türk Beşleri ve Ulvi Cemal Erkin hakkında genel bilgiler verilmiştir. Üçüncü bölümde ise Yaylı Sazlar Kuarteti eseri hakkında bilgi verilmiş, bölümleri tanıtılmıştır. Dördüncü bölümde gitar orkestrası kavramı üzerinde durulmuş, partisyon, ses alanları ve çalgıları incelenmiştir. Bulgular bölümünde belirlenen yöntem ile transkripsiyon esnasında oluşan sorunlara çözüm yolu bulunmuş, teknik ve müzikal öneriler sunulmuştur. Sonuç ve Genel Öneriler başlığında ise gelecekte eserin farklı transkripsiyonlarını yapmanın yanı sıra eseri icra etmek isteyen icracılara öneri niteliğinde fikirler sunulmuştur. Bu fikirler yapılacak yeni edisyonlara ve icralara ışık tutacaktır. | |
