Although the concept of emotional intelligence has many different definitions; the concept fundementally based on the fact that a person can be aware of his / her own feelings, can manage these feelings and can influence others by using these feelings. Coaching style of leadership is a people-oriented managment style that uses Coaching competencies.
The aim of this research is to determine whether emotional intelligence has a significant relationship with coaching style leadership while also analyzing the connection between coaching style of leadership, emotional intelligence strategies and demographic variables such as age, gender, educational status and work experience.
For this reason, 588 people working in the management team of a large-scale company operating in Ankara were surveyed. Of these managers, 275 of them answered the questionnaire (47,62%) and 251 of them allowed their answers to be used in the academic study. In order to measure the emotional intelligence variable the emotional intelligence scale, in order to measure coaching style of leadership coaching scale were used. Correlation and regression analysis were applied to the data obtained from the questionnaire and some outputs were obtained. As a result of these outcomes, it was found that there is a significant and positive relationship between emotional intelligence and coaching style leadership. In addition to this result, it was found that features such as age, gender, educational status and working time did not have any effect on emotional intelligence and coaching style leadership. However, the coaching training influenced emotional intelligence sub-dimension scores.
