Bilimsel İletişim Öğretim Programının Geliştirilmesi ve Altıncı Sınıf Öğretim Programı ile Kaynaştırılması
Özet
Within this study, scientific communication skills have been defined and a curriculum has been developed to teach these skills to sixth grade students. This study based on design based curriculum development model has been carried out in two cycles. In the first cycle, Scientific Communication Curriculum has been developed and evaluated. At the first analyzing stage, wide-ranging needs analysis have been conducted and at designing stage, components of the curriculum have been developed. At the first implementation and evaluation stages the curriculum has been conducted at 6th grade level through a quasi-experimental study and the effectiveness has been assessed. In the second cycle, the Scientific Communication Curriculum has been integrated with the school curriculum. At the second analysis stage, teacher training have been conducted and the second designing stage, three integration activities were designed for teaching the scientific communication skills by integrating with courses. At the second implementation and evaluation stages, activities have been implemented to students and integration process has been evaluated by teachers’, students’ and school librarian’s views. Results of the first cycle have concluded that Scientific Communication Curriculum is effective in teaching scientific communication skills to students. In the second cycle, teachers, students and school librarian attended to integration of the curriculum have positive opinion about the integration process. The views of participants’ supports that scientific communication skills are delivered in accordance with the school curriculum by the integration activities and the activities contribute students to gaining the learning outcomes of both school and scientific communication curriculum.
