According to the norms of today's consumer society, individuals' consumption
preferences are also affected. In the position that the fashion industry has reached as a
result of the consumption preferences of individuals, Fast Fashion offers a projection
for the future of interior space. Consumers' approach to interior elements and their
perception of interior elements have started to change as a result of developing industry
and production techniques. This process has accelerated with the use of media tools in
the following steps. Today, the effect of media tools on consumption is through the
content shared on social media platforms. Within the scope of interior elements, social
media content changes the consumption habits of users. The most effective form of
social media content in consumption is trends and movements. The consumption of
trend products and the mass consumption of these products result in overconsumption.
The most influential names of social media trends are celebrities and users with large
followings. In today's consumption and trends, the tour contents of the houses of
celebrities published by Architectural Digest magazine on its YouTube channel with the
title “Open Door” provide information about users' perception and consumption of
interior elements. This study comments on the consumption of interior space elements
through the conditions of consumption through the media and discusses the place of the
situation resulting from these interpretations in the literature.
