The aim of this research is to develop a listening skills test for preschool children and to reveal the relationship between listening skills and early literacy skills. For this purpose, firstly, a listening skills test including aesthetic, communicative, informational and discriminative listening types was developed by following the test development stages. The Early Literacy Test and the Listening Skills Test developed within the scope of the research were used in the data collection process of the research. The research sample consists of 306 children aged 60-78 months studying in five independent kindergartens in Kütahya province. Relational scanning method was used in the research. The collected data were analyzed in SPSS, Process Macro plug-in and Mplus programs. As a result of the research, it was found that there was a statistically significant relationship only between the gender variable and discriminative listening skills in preschool children; there was a statistically significant difference between the duration of children's preschool education and informational listening, aesthetic listening and communicative listening skills; between the children's ages and communicative listening, discriminative listening and informational listening skills; between the mother's education level and aesthetic listening, communicative listening and informational listening skills; It was found that there was a statistically significant difference between the father's education level and aesthetic listening skills. When the relationship between the early literacy skills and listening skills of preschool children was examined, it was seen that there was a significant relationship between the DBT sub-dimensions and the EROT total score and its sub-dimensions. The moderating effect of the demographic variables considered in the study on the relationship between the DBT sub-dimensions and the EROT total score was examined. The results obtained showed that the age variable had a significant effect only on the relationship between the Discriminative Listening sub-dimension and the EROT total score, and that demographic variables did not create a significant difference in the other relationship models.
