This study aimed to reveal the impact of school principals' transformational leadership characteristics on teachers' academic aspiration based on teachers' perceptions. The research was conducted as a quantitative study using the correlational survey method. The population of the study consisted of 10,569 teachers working in 214 public vocational and technical Anatolian high schools in Altındağ, Çankaya, Etimesgut, Gölbaşı, Keçiören, Mamak, Pursaklar, Sincan, and Yenimahalle districts of Ankara during the 2023-2024 academic year. Stratified random sampling was employed to form the sample, which included 375 teachers. Data on transformational leadership were collected using the "Transformational Leadership Scale (TLS)" developed by Podsakoff et al. (1990) and adapted into Turkish by İşcan (2002). Data on teachers' academic aspiration were collected using the "Teachers’ Academic Aspiration Scale (TAES)" developed by Tuti, Özdemir, and Rizeli (2022). The collected data were analyzed using SPSS 25.0 (Statistical Package for Social Sciences). Descriptive statistics such as frequency, arithmetic mean, standard deviation, and percentage values were utilized to analyze the data. To determine whether there were differences among variables related to the sub-problems of the study, independent samples t-tests were used for variables with two subgroups, and one-way ANOVA tests were used for variables with three or more subgroups. Pearson correlation coefficients were calculated to examine the significance of the relationship between transformational leadership and teachers' academic aspiration. Additionally, multiple linear regression analysis was conducted to determine the predictive power of transformational leadership on teachers' academic aspiration. The results showed that school principals' transformational leadership characteristics and teachers' academic aspiration were at a moderate level. Academic aspiration differed according to some demographic variables. The most significant finding of the study was that there is a statistically significant positive relationship between school principals' transformational leadership characteristics and teachers' academic aspiration. Furthermore, as a result of the study, transformational leadership was found to be a significant predictor of teachers' academic aspiration.
