SİVİL TOPLUM KURULUŞLARININ EĞİTİM ETKİNLİKLERİNİN ve EĞİTİM İHTİYAÇLARININ ANALİZİ: SÜRDÜRÜLEBİLİR ÇEVRE ALANI

Abstract

The research aimed to determine the views of civil society volunteers, managers and field experts on the current training activities and the training needs of civil society organizations which are operating in the field of sustainable environment. In the process of determining the training needs, the democratic approach was used. In this study in which qualitative research method was used, a phenomenological design was adopted. The study group consisted of 6 civil society volunteers, 6 civil society managers and 6 field experts. The data were collected during focus group interviews using semi-structured interview forms. The collected data were analyzed using Miles-Huberman qualitative data analysis steps. According to the results of the research, it was determined that civil society organizations organize learner-oriented trainings on the themes of sustainable environment and personal development, planned and conducted by their members/volunteers and invited field experts, once a month on average and lasting approximately 90 minutes, mostly using alternative assessment and evaluation tools. It’s been observed that volunteers need trainings on the themes of sustainable environment, personal development and advocacy activities, with a frequency of once every two weeks, lasting approximately 75 minutes, involving a process based on group work and interaction, and using alternative assessment and evaluation tools. There is a harmony between the training activities in civil society organizations and the needs of volunteers. It was concluded that this harmony was achieved through trainings planned in line with the needs and wishes of volunteers.
