In this study, it is aimed to reveal the design, development and implementation principles for the integration of robots into learning environments by determining the dynamics related to the use of educational robots in computer programming teaching. In this context, three case studies were conducted with the design-based research method. In the first case study, 67 students enrolled in the "BTO202-Programming Languages II" course in Hacettepe University Computer and Instructional Technologies Education (CEIT) department in the spring term of 2012-2013, in the second case study, 65 students enrolled in the "BTO201-Programming Languages I" course in the fall semester of 2013-2014, in the
third case study, 28 students enrolled in the "BTO216-Visual Programming" course in the spring term of 2014-2015 constitute the study groups. At the beginning, after the introduction and installation of the robot, robot applications were made in parallel with the theoretical part of the course. In the applications made by keeping field notes, reflection reports were received from the students throughout the semester. In the first two case studies, interviews were also conducted with volunteer students. The results of the research revealed that robots attract students' attention and increase their motivation towards the lesson, and that the most appropriate learning and teaching approach is project-based learning. As a result of the qualitative analysis of reflection, interview and field notes, it was determined that the students who carried out cooperative teamwork and robot activities preferred sharing and cooperation rather than rivalry and competition. On the basis of problems from easy to difficult and not well defined, the importance of the course content being based on short theoretical knowledge and more practice has emerged. It has also
been revealed that there are some difficulties and problems related to the learning environment, robot hardware and software, team structure, robot activities and projects. In addition, it was revealed that using educational robots according to students' gender and computer programming experience did not affect their motivation. Finally, an implementation program and model proposal is given.
