Ses Temelli Okuma Yazma Öğretiminde Öğretmenlerin Karşılaştıkları Sorunlar ve Çözüm Önerileri

Reading is a skill that motivates curiosity, opens the doors to different worlds, and can be called the most important part of life. Some people learn this skill before starting school due to individual or environmental factors; Some people want to learn under the guidance of their teachers when they start primary school. Teachers guide their students to acquire such an important skill by taking into account their students' individual differences and readiness and applying the most appropriate method for them. Although different methods have been tried in our country, the Sound Based Sentence Method has started to be implemented as of the 2004-2005 academic year. In this research, it was aimed to obtain findings through a semi-structured interview form with teachers on the suitability of sound groups for students while teaching with the Sound-Based Sentence Method, which sounds' teaching order negatively affects the process, and what difficulties teachers encounter in the reading and writing process, and to develop solution suggestions. Content analysis method was used to interpret the data obtained as a result of the research. The case study qualitative research design was used as the design. The sample of the research was composed of 20 teachers who taught first grade in Diyarbakır in the 2023-2024 academic year using the criterion sampling and maximum variation sampling method and who taught first grade at least once with the Sound-Based Sentence Method. In the research, it was determined that there were deficiencies in the readiness of the students in the preparation phase of the reading and writing process and suggestions were made for these deficiencies. Teachers stated that there was confusion in the sound groups because some sounds were writing, some sounds were reading, and some sounds were similar to each other. Teacher opinions were taken and examined as to why the indicated sounds should be replaced, and the findings were included in the research.
