Considering that the knowledge gained in the field of biology directly affects human life, it becomes more and more significant to teach the subjects that are of such close interest to future generations and the society. "reproduction and development" which is one of the subjects of biology mainly includes information related to transferring of humans and other living's gene compositions to the next generations for the surviving. In this study, it is aimed to examine the situation in the reproduction and development subject in the 9th, 10th, 11th and 12th grades of the secondary school biology curriculum that was put into practice in 2018. Therefore, biology curriculum, the units related to reproduction and development were evaluated in terms of attainments, grade level, content and in comparison with the biology curriculum of the various reference countries. Document analysis was used in the research. The biology curriculum implemented as a document by the Ministry of National Education and the biology curricula of Finland, Germany and England were analyzed and subjected to content analysis. According to the results obtained from the study, it was determined that the acquisitions allocated to reproduction and development in the secondary school biology curriculum and the duration of the course were insufficient. It may create disadvantageous situations for term students. The research shows that although the biology curriculum in Turkey is similar to the biology curriculum of reference countries, it is not effective in implementing the programs for certain reasons.
