The current study investigated relationship between university students bodyimage, attachment styles (anxiety and avoidance) and gender roles (egalitarian andtraditional). It furthermore explored the impact of gender, age, education level ofmother and father on body image. The sample of the research consisted of 427students from Hacettepe University, Middle East Technical University andBaşkent University. The Body Esteem Scale, Experiences in Close RelationshipsII and Socialization of Gender Roles-SGNS were used for data collection. APersonal Information Form was developed by the researcher in order to obtaininformation on students socio-demographic characteristics.
