Yetişkin Kadınlara Değişim Aşamaları Modeli (Transteoretik Model) Ile Yapılan Eğitimin Sigarayı Bırakma Davranışı Üzerine Etkisi
Abstract
This research was made a methodological study in order to adapt Turkish language and culture of Stage of Change (SOC) scales (Processes of Change / POC, Self-Efficacy / SE and Decisional Balance / DB) which developed for adults who smoke and a intervention research to determine the effect of SOC-based education given for smoking cessation to adult women. This study was conducted seven family health center in Aksehir district of Konya. The universe could not be due to failure to obtain account records information. The reliability and validity study, 185 adult individuals selected by snowball sampling method were carried out and two to four weeks after the re-test measurements were made of 50 people. Power analysis was conducted for the intervention study, snowball sampling method selected 77 women (intervention 38, control 39) studies were carried out. Data were collected from face to face identification form and SOC scales. Smoking Cessation Guide was prepared according to the model for intervention study. Phase in which The Scale of Stages of Change for women in the intervention group were identified and 1th, 30th and 45th days of appropriate stage training given to women, 60th day were evaluated interventions. In the control group, two times (1th, 60th days) were evaluated. Related institutions, Hacettepe University Ethics Committee and the individuals who agreed to participate in the study written permission were taken. Validity and reliability study was conducted explanatory and confirmatory factor analysis, content validity index, correlation and Spearman-Brown and Cronbach's alpha (α) reliability coefficients were calculated. Intervention study data, the number, percentage, mean, Pearson's chi-square, t-test, One-Way ANOVA analyzes. DAM scales back translation method was used in the adaptation of language. POC, SE and DB scale Cronbach's alpha (α) reliability coefficients, respectively, 0.93, 0.78 and 0.85. SOC scales were found to be valid and reliable tools. Intervention study stages of change in the last follow-up intervention group difference was statistically significant (p <0.05). According to the latest follow-up the intervention and control groups, the difference between the scores of POC significant (p<0.05), but significant differences were found between mean scores of SE and DB (p>0.05). 13.2% of intervention group women reported quitting smoking. There is no control group of women who quit smoking. A significant difference between the two groups in stopping smoking (p<0.05). In the intervention group than the control group were statistically significant reduction in the number of cigarettes smoked per day (p<0.05). Education given to stop smoking has been found to be effective. Long-term SOC based studies and presentation of the model are recommended that health care workers.
