Abstract

The main aim of this dissertation is to carry out a comparative research on both Turkish and German elderly care models and applications in order to find out similarities and differences and to develop suggestions for a proper elderly care model and application system for the future in Turkey.As known, elderness is one of the problems which has an increasing importance in today societies. That s why, it is needed to carry out academic researches in order to not face with its negative consequences in our country. For this purpose, the study is designed to explain the research problem and its methodology at first. In addition, concepts of elder and elderly, welfare state, elderly welfare, the historical background of services provided for elderly people, social security and social services, the effects of neoliberal politics on elder people life.
