Turkish Code of Civil Procedure regulated expert opinion in article 293. The parties now have the opportunity to contact their own appointed expert. This study aims to evaluate institution of expert opinion. This study consists of three chapters. In the first chapter, the historical development, aims, definition, legal charecteristic of expert opinion and its comparison with similar institutions will be emphasized. In the second chapter, requesting an opinion from the expert, the qualifications, rights, obligations and liabilities of the expert will be examined. In the third chapter, first of all explanation, content and notification of expert opinion will be explained. Then, objection to expert opinion, inviting and examining to the expert and evaluation of expert opinion will be emphasized.
