Abstract

In the first part of the thesis, a short introduction to the ceramic decors is made. Afterwards, Along with its definition, the history of ceramic decors, is given in a short section. Then in the first part, ceramic decor types is tried to be explained with definitions in detail. In the second part, the openwork technique is described in detail, its history is explained, it is tried to be explained in general sense and application methods are discussed. Finally in the second part, examples of artists who made effective works in openwork decors with contemporary ceramic form application are given. At the same time The information about artists’ works and artist biographies are mentioned. In the third and last part of thesis, personal applications and explanations are given.
