In this thesis, under the title of The Judicial Issues in the Turkish Theater between 1950 and 1980, with a focus on Law and Literature studies, plays written in the period of 1950-1980 are studied in order to identify the perception of law and justice by the play writers. Those studies aimed to reveal how law is perceived in the literary texts, as it is one of the primary concerns of the law and literature studies. The period of 1950-1980 is chosen particularly because law and its categories are fervently treated in the plays written in these decades. The plays are chosen according to their capacity to represent thoroughly and explicitly the law perception of the chosen period. Thereby, the plays without a primary concern about law and justice are excluded from this study. Two hundred and fifty plays written in this period are read, fifty of them are examined because of their focus on law and its categories, and finally the plays Duvarların Ötesi, Turgut Özakman (1958), Ayak Bacak Fabrikası, Sermet Çağan (1964), İçerdekiler, Melih Cevdet Anday (1964), Keziban, Turan Oflazoğlu (1965), Susuz Yaz, Necati Cumalı (1965), Tehlikeli Güvercin, Necati Cumalı (1967), Vur Emri, Necati Cumalı (1966), Sokrates Savunuyor, Turan Oflazoğlu (1969), Simavnalı Şeyh Bedreddin, Orhan Asena (1969), Atçalı Kel Memet, Orhan Asena (1970), Nafile Dünya, Oktay Arayıcı, (1971), Tanilli Dosyası, Oktay Arayıcı (1979), Elif Ana, Turan Oflazoğlu (1979), Eşeğin Gölgesi, Haldun Taner (1968), 72. Koğuş, Orhan Kemal (1967), Bir Ölümün Anatomisi, Oktay Arayıcı (1979) are treated in the scope of this thesis. In this way, the perception of law of the Turkish play writers between 1950 and 1980 is tried to be represented.
