Özet
The aim of this research is to determine the effect of the item writer’s creativity and item writing education on the psychometric properties of the items developed, and the tests made up with these items. For this purpose, the creativity indices were determined by applying the Torrance Tests of Creative Thinking to randomly selected 40 mathematics and 40 Turkish lesson teachers who gave education to the 8th grade students in the Ankara Provincial Directorate of National Education public schools. According to creativity indices in each branch, high and low creativity groups were established. Blueprints are defined from 2016-2017 education and training year’s 8th grade central common main exam’s mathematics and Turkish subtests based on field experts’ opinions. Each goal in the blueprints was assigned to teachers from high and low creativity groups, and item for these goals requested. Subsequently, experimental and control groups were established in each branch randomly. Twenty teachers in the experimental groups were given item writing education and they were asked to develop one more item from initial goals. Three test forms were gained with the developed items and applied to 1313 8th grade students. Item and test psychometric properties were estimated from item and test scores obtained from student responses. As a result of analysis of the data, there was no significant relationship between creativity and the item and test psychometric properties, but findings were obtained that item writing education was effective on item and test psychometric properties.
