The aim of the thesis is to examine the influence of employing dynamic search ellipsoids in resource estimation on the precision and dependability of estimations when confronted with complex geological structures. This is achieved by considering the geometric variability and geological attribute continuity of the ore deposit. In the context of this research, experimental variogram models of coal's lower heating values were developed, and resource estimation was executed using both dynamic search ellipsoid and fixed search ellipsoid methodologies. Estimation outcomes derived from dynamic and fixed search ellipsoids were compared in terms of quality-tonnage curves and statistical analyses. The implications of these comparisons on coal resource estimation were evaluated, and it was determined that resource estimation utilizing the dynamic search ellipsoid generated more trustworthy results. The dataset employed in this thesis is based on analytical values and comprises ready-to-use files for the electronic database of an actual coalfield.
