Riskli Bebeklerde Tek Seans Fizyoterapinin Fidgety Hareketler Üzerine Etkisi

Cerebral Palsy (CP) is the most common, lifelong neurodevelopmental disorder in childhood. With early diagnosis of CP, it is important to start early intervention when the brain plasticity is high. However, the effect of early intervention is still controversial today. The aim of this study is to comparatively examine the effects of single physiotherapy in high risk infants by observational analysis and computer-based analysis to generate quantitative data. Twenty one infants were included in the study and randomly divided into two as; 10 in study group and 11 in control group. Single session physiotherapy was administered to the study group of infants while infants in control group play with their mother. Videos of infant were recorded before, after and one week after the session. The babies were evaluated by the Assessment of Motor Repertoire and Computer-Based Infant Movement Assessment (CIMA). The “fidgety movements” subsection of the Assessment of Motor Repertoire and the Total Motor Optimality Score (MOS) showed a significant improvement in study group after treatment and one week after according to the evaluation results of the study group and control group (p<0.05). Although MOS and CIMA results were strongly related (p<0.05, p<0.01), there was no significant difference in CIMA results after treatment (p>0.05). As a conclusion of our study it was thought that those who need physiotherapy from high risk infants with should be identified, followed up, included early treatment program in the early intervention period.
