Pandemi Sürecinde Yetişkin Bireylerde Yaşamda Anlamı Yordayan Değişkenlerin İncelenmesi

The purpose of this study was to examine the relationship between meaning in life, psychological vulnerability, authenticity and perceived social support, and the effects of COVID-19 on quality of life in adults aged 18-65 years during the COVID-19 pandemic. An additional aim of the study was to examine whether there is a significant difference beetween meaning in life levels according to various sociodemographic variables in the COVID-19 pandemic. The study group reached by appropriate sampling consists of 396 adult individuals (51% Female, 47.8% Male) adult individuals. Personal Information Form, Meaning in Life Questionnaire, The COV19 – Impact on Quality of Life Scale, Authenticity Scale, Psychological Vulnerability Scale and Multidimensional Perceived Social Support Scale were used as data collection tools. The data were analyzed using the SPSS 22 with independent samples t test, One Way ANOVA, and multiple linear regression analysis methods. As a result of the study showed that there is a significant difference according to gender in the search for meaning. Significant relationships were found between perceived socioeconomic level and both presence of meaning and search for meaning. Results of regression analysis revealed that the effect of self-alienation, psychological vulnerability, and COVID-19 on the quality of life were significant negative predictors of presence of meaning and authentic life was a significant positive predictor of presence of meaning. Self-alienation, psychological vulnerability, social support from the family and the effect of COVID-19 on the quality of life were significant positive predictors of search for meaning. The findings were discussed according to the relevant literature.
