Bilim Diplomasisinde Türkiye ve İngiltere’nin Politikaları ve Uygulamaları

Abstract

In the developing and globalizing world, the importance of science in every field is increasing. Recently, due to globalizing problems, economic relations and trade, science is used to strengthen the relations between countries, and diplomacy is used to carry out scientific activities. In this context, science diplomacy emerges. Science diplomacy has been increasingly discussed in Turkey for the last two decades. In this study, it is aimed to examine the science diplomacy activities carried out in Turkey and England. First of all, Science Diplomacy and its dimensions were explained. Science diplomacy policies and activities of powerful countries such as the USA, Germany, France, and Italy were explained. Similar and different aspects have been revealed by examining the activities carried out by Turkey and England through their science diplomacy policies and institutions. Institutions with similar characteristics in terms of science diplomacy activities are presented in a table. It will contribute to the promotion of science diplomacy activities carried out and the most successful science diplomacy activities of countries through the study. In the study, the document scanning method, which is one of the qualitative research designs, was used. The primary sources of the obtained data were reached, and their accuracy was confirmed.
