Özet
Stop motion technique, has been used alone and in combination with other techniques, both at the level of visual effects and as the main creation technique of a film since the very beginning of the motion picture history. Due to the nature of the construction processes, it is the most laborious among the animation techniques. Every imaginable material is a source for stop motion character creators. Any new technique that can facilitate continuity and smooth movement in character movements is also a tool that should be explored for the producer.
As a source for creation in stop motion animation, 3D printing technologies should be explored and analyzed thoroughly. 3d Printing is increasingly being used in daily life; accordingly, while the costs are decreasing day by day, the print quality is also increasing. This opens up new possibilities for stop motion filmmakers. In order to produce the characters with the 3D printing technique, their mobility and replaceable parts must be designed in accordance with the this production technique and the needs of the animation.
In this study, the development of stop motion technique with technology and accordingly the advantages of 3D printing technique in stop motion character design are discussed; the contributions of the characters to the production were revealed; In the light of the findings obtained, a sample character design was made and animated.
