The aim of the research is to demonstrate the possibilities of using national
biographical works at the primary school level published in our country as an inclass and out-of-class reference material. Through the document analysis in the
study, the role of the works in the child literature in our country and the diversity in
the biographical works have been taken into consideration. The research will fulfill
an important function in the field of children's literature by filling the gap in
education and guiding teachers, students and families.
In this study, the analysis of the biographical works prepared for the children at the
primary school level in our country was revealed through the document analysis as
a qualitative research method. There are 69 different figurative biographies from
124 different sources in the study. During the data collection phase 124
biographical studies were analyzed. All biographical works examined within this
scope are evaluated through document analysis method on these categories; the
area and profession of the person concerned; information about the publisher of
the work and the year of publication; type of work; the relevant age level, the
number of pages, and information about the manuscript. As a result of the
research; 69 figurative works were carried out, in 10 different fields, 4 species, 5
different age levels and information about 58 different writers, of 124 different
biographical publications from 38 different publishing house in 24 different years.
