This research is conducted to examine the effect of Language Development and Perspective Taking Education on the language and perspective taking skills of 5 years old children. Pre-test post-test quasi-experimental design with placebo and control groups was used in this study. In experimental group 14 children, in control group 13 children and in placebo group 12 children are in this study group of the research. Criterion sampling was used and accordingly, children whose mother’s maternal level was high school and below were included in the study. Data were collected by TEDIL, Perspective Taking Test for Children (CBT) and Personal Information Form. The Picture Story Assessment Scale was used to select storybooks. The training prepared with picture storybooks was applied in experimental group, painting activities were applied in placebo group and no application was done to the children in control group. Data were analyzed with Kruskal Wallis H test, Mann Whitney U and Wilcoxon Signed Rank test. A significant difference was observed in post-test TEDIL total score and sub-test scores, the CBT total score and perceptual, cognitive and affective perspective taking scores of children in experimental, control and placebo groups. As a result of this research, it was seen that training prepared with picture storybooks was effective in developing children’s perspective taking and language scores, and it was concluded that this effect was large.
