This thesis aims to investigate the identity of Islamist women, which has been started to be defined since 1967, to the first half of the 2000s how to change around the purpose of the ?come out?, the meaning of covering and the views of themes of the traditonal female-male roles on Islamist women writers? opinion articles. For ?the first generation of Islamist women? the rescue of the society that was proposed to be in a moral crisis was designated as the only purpose and ?come out? gained legitimacy based on this purpose. Woman was seen as the most important part of interdependent tripartite structure of the ?woman-new generation-community?, therefore it was important to reach woman. Woman actors in accordance with the ?Islamization Project? that started in the 1960s, were invited to live as ?Muslim woman? and also were invited to the duty of proclamation to inform and warn other women. ?The second generation of Islamist women? that emerged in the late 1990s, however, have moved away form the themes of ?community?, ?proclamation?, ?cause? and ?salvation?. Their articles reflect more individually oriented topics. ?Come out? is defended on the grounds of participating in education and work rather than religious and sacred purposes. Covering, despite being the sine qua non of ?come out?, has lost its symbolic meaning. Traditonal female-male roles have been investigated through readings of the Islam?s original sources and women?s roles-duties have been questioned critically. Key words: "The first generation of Islamist women", "the second generation of Islamist women", community, proclamation, individuality.
