Abstract

This thesis takes up the technical properties of German tanks during World War Two. Besides technical properties, thesis also gives information about the performances of the tanks for each front. One of the main scopes of this thesis is development and the outcomes of the changes of German tank program. To explain the role of the tanks in mechanised warfare, some example battles and tactics will be discussed. Also the reasons of success and failure will be an another main axis of this section. Finally, how did the German tank program and tactics have influenced modern mechanised warfare will be explained.
