Abstract
This study aims to analyze the sociological perspectives of İbrahim Yasa, a prominent figure in Turkish
sociology, on social structure and change. As one of the leading representatives of the Ankara School, Yasa
made significant contributions to the institutionalization of sociology in Turkey through his field research
on topics such as rural sociology, family structure, rural-urban migration, and modernization. Based on
Yasa’s original works, the study systematically examines how he defines social structure, how he
approaches social change, and which conceptual and theoretical frameworks he adopts to explain these
processes.
Furthermore, it discusses the extent to which Yasa’s sociological contributions can be related to
contemporary social issues. In this regard, the thesis aims to contribute to the limited body of work on
İbrahim Yasa and to offer a new perspective on the processes of social change in Turkey.
