Abstract

Paul Hindemith, who is one of the most important composers of 20th century music, is a worldwide composer. He applied his own system by making innovations in harmony and tonality system. He has innovated his harmony and tonality systems and applied his own harmony system in his works. Having made the pioneer of the Neo Classical movement, Hindemith has developed and effectively used the concept of tonality. In 1935, he came to Turkey and played an important role in the establishment of the Ankara State Conservatory, as well as in the establishment of music education in western standards in our country. However, he made a great contribution to the double bass repertoire with his Double Bass Sonata, written in 1949. The style of Hindemith can be generally assessed within the framework of the Neo Classical movement. Most of his works are worthy of mentioning music analysis, known as a complex structure, due to their different musical styles and their distinctive tonal sense.
