Mehter Musikisi, Bestekar Mehterler ve Türk Müziğine Katkıları

Abstract

In the scope of the study, firstly mehter music was discussed firstly and then composer mehters were mentioned and contributions of mehter team and composer mehters to Turkish music were discussed. The study, which deals with all these issues, consists of five different sections. In the first chapter, the history of the mehter, the military music group of the Ottoman Empire, the mehter organization in general, the importance and duties of the organization are mentioned. In the second part, special clothes of mehter team are discussed one by one. In the third chapter, the instruments, music and the presentation manners of the mehterhane are presented. In the fourth chapter, while the music of mehter team and its contributions to Turkish music are discussed, composer mehter, the processes of mehterhouse and contemporary mehter teams are mentioned. Finally, the thesis was finalized by making an evaluation on the subject.
