İç Mimarlık Eğitiminde Artırılmış Gerçeklik Kavramının Kuşaklar Kuramı Üzerinden İncelenmesi
Özet
The main objective of the study is adapting a new-generation concept, augmented reality, to the interior design education in the context of investigating the place of digital design technologies among it. The research done in this manner is designed with the idea to bring the new generation spatial thinking mediums becoming widespread and this era having conventional education methods together. Motivating from the observation that today’s generation greets and has an interest and engagement in the global technological movement, the focus of the study is the youngest members of the social generations, the late Y-generation and the Z-generation individuals. Via new generation notions, solving the problems based on the perception and architectural presentation faced by students in the interior design education is another aim of the study designed on this sense. The universe of this quantitative fieldwork was formed by Interior Architecture and Environmental Design undergraduate students. The fieldwork to investigate the role of augmented reality within the interior design education was practiced using an app with augmented reality interface by 52 sophomores. A two-phase work was applied. Firstly, students drew a freehand one-point perspective of a space decided by the researcher, and the furniture to locate in it. Then, they repeated the same task using the augmented reality method. Subsequently, they responded to a 26-question two-phased survey. They were consecutively queried about their attitude to new digital mediums and to the study. Finally, it was concluded that augmented reality has a significant contribution to space perception and perspective perception.
