In this study, the types of adverbial predications which consist of converbs in Ankara dialects are discussed at the syntactic level. Converb segments are formed with adding specific suffixes to verb base. Besides, these structures undertake different syntactic meanings as reason, purpose, manner and time in the main sentence. Therefore, these structures are subordinated with adverbial functions. In general, converb clauses which are addressed from their Turkish usage do not receive enough attention within the studies of dialects. Because of this reason, converb clauses are discussed in terms of dialects in this study. The main topics of the study are semantic and syntactic relationships between converb clauses and main clauses in Ankara dialects. The data which were gathered from the districts and villages of Ankara within the scope of ANADOK (Documentation of Ankara Dialects) TÜBİTAK Project which was carried out by Prof. Dr. Nurettin Demir and his colleagues constitute the paradigm of this thesis.
