Çağdaş Uygurcada Kiplik: Dilbilgisel Biçimbirimler
Özet
This study aims to describe Modern Uyghur modal categories as function oriented.
In the thesis, the modality was evaluated as the semantic category that reflects the subjective attitudes and opinions of the speaker. The concept of mood consist of gramatical morpheme that indicate modality.
The morphemes discussed in the thesis are classified in the headings, which are the basic modal fields, the volition, possibility and necessity. In addition, the volitional moods are divided into four sub-headings: imperative, optative, voluntative and hypothetical mood. The morphemes discussed in this classification were evaluated as polysemy. Nevertheless, the dominant semantic features were highlighted. As well as specific typological criteria are included.
In the thesis, historical data were also used to better explain the Uyghur moods category. Although very limited, since the source language of the thesis is Turkish and Modern Uyghur and Turkish are related languages, the data in two languages are compared. The aim of the thesis is to establish a formal direction in a difficult-to-draw area, such as modality, and in this context to form a basis for the study of Modern Uyghur mood categories.
