Under the scope of international "Sever Fuel Damage (SFD)" program, Cora experiments are actualized to study the events of the severe accidents. Cora-13 out of pile experiment enlightened us about fuel failure mechanism, In addition, its results helps to enhance and validate severe accident codes. In Cora-13 (ISP-31) experiment bundle was heated with electrical heater until damaged and finished with cooled by quench process. After that processes bundle integrity, amount of generated hydrogen, amount of oxidation and bundle temperature parameters were investigated.
In this thesis RELAP/SCDAPSIM/MOD3.4 computer code was used to simulate Cora-13 experiment. Input document, which is prepared by Idaho National Engineering Laboratory (INEL), used as base model. Input variables are mostly identical with experiment variables. Steam flow rate and SCDAP part of model was modified and calculation results of simulation was compared with the results of experiment, thereafter response of the code to changes are determined.
