Acromegaly is a complex syndrome that effects the connective tissue and bone metabolism. Acromegaly patients have increased growth hormone (GH), insulin like growth factor-1 (IGF-1) levels. Studies on the frequency of periodontitis in this group of patients have been limited. ur study was conducted on 30 periodontitis, 30 acromegaly and 30 systemic and periodontally healthy individuals. Clinical periodontal evaluations of all groups were performed. DOS and blood samples were also taken from all groups for biochemical analyzes. Routine biochemical analyzes of cytokine levels and serum samples were evaluated by ELISA method in DOS samples. There were statistically significant differences between the groups in GH, prolactin, ICTP, IL-1β, IL-10 levels. According to the results of our study, it was observed that the risk of occurrence of advanced periodontal destruction was low in acromegaly patients.
