KÖSE B., Validity, Reliability and Turkish Adaptation of Bruininks-Oseretsky Test of Motor Proficiency Second Edition Brief Form in Children with Specific Learning Disability, Hacettepe University Graduate School of Health Sciences, Occupational Therapy Master’s Dissertation, Ankara, 2018. This study was planned to examine the validity and reliability of the Turkish adaptation of Bruininks-Oseretsky Test of Motor Proficiency 2 - Short Form (BOT 2-BF) in children with specific learning disability (SLD). 137 children with SLD and 50 children without any medical diagnosis, aged between 6 - 14, were included in the study. The translation of BOT 2-BF into Turkish was conducted by following the procedure that the World Health Organization determined for translating assessments into different languages. The final adaptation of the Turkish version of the BOT 2-BF was applied by a single researcher in a single session without breaks to children with SLD twice with a seven days interval. In addition, BOT 2-BF was reapplied to 25 randomly selected children with SLD after 3 weeks. The validity of the Turkish version of BOT2-BF is determined by the construct validity method while its reliability was examined using internal consistency, test-retest, and inter-rater reliability methods. Test's Cronbach's α coefficient was found as 0.78. The BOT 2-BF Fine Motor Precision Subtest (ICC=0.57) and Manual Dexterity Subtest (ICC=0.74) were found to be moderately reliable, and the other subtests were found to be extremely reliable (ICC>0.8). In conclusion, the Turkish version of BOT 2-BF was found to be a valid and reliable measurement tool to evaluate motor proficiency in children with SLD.
