Bireylerin Grup Baskısına Karşı Direnme ve Özneleşme Deneyimleri
Abstract
This research is about how to build social, engaging and living subjectivism experiences in three different group lives, family, friendship and work environment. The focus of the study is to analyze and explain whether or not there exists in social groups of individuals, such as individuals-society, actors-structure, and if there exists, the mechanism of study and how the subjectivity in relation to it is interpreted by individuals and how it is positioned in three different groups.
In the research, the events that individuals have experienced in family, friendship and workplace groups and their relation to group dynamics are examined through a qualitative research desing. In this context, individuals are considered not only individually as individuals within each group type, but also as a subject who is a member of multiple groups, and therefore has a relationship with the group members. In this context, face-to-face interviews were conducted with fifty-four people in Samsun province and most of them living in the same province during the research process, and results were analyzed through theme and grouping.
It is not a claim of universal prevalence, but a theoretical generalization in the sense of the functioning of a causal mechanism, and therefore the main arguments of this study in the form of a summary of the issues that emerged from the research findings can be expressed as follows: The phenomenon called subjectiveness does not have a singular identity, but differs depending on the group types experienced within it. The original nature of the behavior, called subjugation to group oppression, is often an internalized subjectivism. This is because while individuals are adapting to the group, they behave in harmony as a result of a commitment to values that actively bind the group rather than simply a harmony or passive obedience, and thus define their subjectivity. Therefore, the individual creates and reconstructs the group membership and the process of subjectivity within it. Moreover, and in connection with this, subjectivity is a process that must be redesigned and realized at any moment within the context of time and place, not a position that is independently accessed on a condition.
The definitions in theoretical discussions about the subject are often thought of as the state of subjectivism in which the individual can advance his wishes against those outside him. However, an important point that this definition neglected and points out to the research findings is that this situation is not an ongoing conflict between the individual and the group, on the contrary, the individual has a common field of values with the group and never considered himself completely independent of the group life. Research data indicate that there are nine key factors that affect the way subjectivity is taken by group types, individuals ' characteristics and subject matter. These factors are age, gender, economic situation, education level, meaning loaded in group, in-group position, what is to be decided on, intra-group relations and person's characteristics. Finally, it is clear that individuals are trying to express themselves in any environment or social group, but subjectivity does not mean to express themselves in spite of everything.
