In order to elucidate crime, forensic science is required and it has been carried through various induction methods. Forensic palynology, a branch under forensic science, is being used to find offenders by using properties of spore, pollen and palynomorphs, to investigate the connection between the crime scene, evidence and offender, solving events, proving reliability of the narratives told by the victim, building up the profile of the offender, reduce the number of suspects, helping security forces in conducting investigations accurately, detecting smuggling of drugs and other materials and the places where they might be found. The palynological evidence is known to be highly resistant to very high temperatures (over 400ºC), strong acids (like HCl-HF), fungal and bacterial activities. The high resistance of palynological evidence is one of the most important reasons of their usage as evidence for judicial cases. Property crimes comprise the majority of the judicial cases in Turkey. Burglary constitutes a very high proportion the property crime. In this study, we aimed to solve various burglary events in Turkey with the help of palynological evidence. Using various methods, we analysed palynological particles included in the forensic samples, which were sent to our laboratories between March 2016 and May 2017. The results were sent to law enforcement officers and the legal experts working in court houses (lawyers/attorney/judge).
